ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects focus, impulsivity, and executive function. It's not a personality flaw, a lack of effort, or something you outgrow.

At Viva Hope & Health, we specialize in evaluating and treating ADHD in adults and young adults. With the right combination of medication, structure, and support, most patients see meaningful improvement within weeks.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Common questions about ADHD

Can adults really be diagnosed with ADHD?
Absolutely. Many adults live with undiagnosed ADHD their entire lives. Getting evaluated as an adult doesn't mean you "suddenly developed" ADHD — it usually means the right person finally looked closely.
Do I have to take stimulants?
Not necessarily. Stimulants are one of several effective options, including non-stimulant medications and behavioral strategies. We discuss what fits you best — your health history, your lifestyle, your preferences.
How long does the evaluation take?
The initial ADHD evaluation usually takes 60 to 90 minutes. We may ask you to complete some questionnaires beforehand to make the most of your time with us.
Will medication change my personality?
No. Properly dosed ADHD medication doesn't change who you are — it helps you function more like the version of yourself you already know. If you feel "different" in an uncomfortable way, that's a sign we need to adjust the treatment.
Can I be treated by telehealth?
Yes, in most cases. Both the evaluation and follow-up appointments can be done online through our secure telehealth platform. Some patients prefer in-person visits for the initial evaluation — your choice.
What if I'm not sure I have ADHD?
That's exactly what the evaluation is for. Many symptoms of ADHD overlap with anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, or stress. Our job is to look at the full picture and figure it out with you — not to label you.
