FREQUENTLY ASKED

Common questions about depression

How do I know if what I'm feeling is depression?
If sadness, exhaustion, or emptiness has lasted more than two weeks and is affecting how you work, relate, or function — it's worth talking to a professional. You don't need to be at your worst to deserve care.
Will I have to take medication for the rest of my life?
Not necessarily. For some patients, medication is a temporary support during a difficult period. For others, longer-term treatment helps prevent relapse. We discuss the options openly and decide together — your situation is unique.
How long until I feel better?
Many people start to feel some relief within 2 to 4 weeks of starting treatment. Full improvement can take a few months. We'll set realistic expectations with you and stay close through the process.
What if I've tried medication before and it didn't work?
That happens, and it doesn't mean nothing will. There are many options — different medications, different combinations, different approaches. We take the time to find what fits you, even if previous attempts haven't.
Do you offer therapy or just medication?
Our focus is psychiatric care and medication management. We work closely with trusted therapists and can refer you for talk therapy, which often combines beautifully with medication for the best results.
Is this confidential?
Absolutely. Everything we discuss is protected under HIPAA. Your information is never shared without your written consent, except in the rare cases legally required.
